Sukma athletes urged to stay disciplined, driven

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said Sabah is well on its way to fully adopting the green technology revolution with a RM20 billion green steel project at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip).
“There is the culture that we want to cultivate in Putatan not only to reward those excellence in sports but also in education.”
He also congratulated the Putatan contingent for the successful outing and thanked the coaches, management team and the working committee for their commitment throughout the competition.
Meanwhile , the Putatan contingent finished in 19th position at the biennial games with three gold, four silver and 14 bronze medals.
The gold medals came from the women’s hockey team, petanque mixed doubles event and the men’s 3,000 steeplechase event.
Silver medals from the men’s 1,500m, pencak silat women class E (65-70kg), tennis men’s singles and wushu changquan , while the bronzes delivered by the men’s basketball ball team , E sport tekker, golf (men’s individual & men’s team) , karate (women’s -55kg), muaythai ( men’s 67-71 kg), long jump (men), pencak silat- men’s class I (85-90kg), men’s class B (50-55kg), women’s class B (50-55kg), petanque (women’s singles & women’s triples), table tennis (women’s singles), rugby (men). -dailyexpress
