
Kuala Lumpur: Defending champions Ivan Yuen and Low Wee Wern each retained the national championships in the men's and women's premier categories after winning the final of the 36th National Squash Championship which took place at the Nicol David Arena, Bukit Jalil National Squash Center here today.
Ivan, the reigning champion since 2017, took 48 minutes to subdue the national player who is also the second seed of the tournament Muhammad Syafiq Kamal with 11-8, 11-9 and 11-6.
Earlier, national women's number one Low Wee Wern was pushed hard in the 57-minute bout before winning the final with a 3-11, 11-7, 11-6, 3-11 and 11-9 victory over 2018 Champion, S Sivasangari .
